Hi
Have been running Excel for Mac 2011 for years now. Just this week all my Excel menus were greyed out (not so for Powerpoint or Word). Have uninstalled (completely based upon instructions obtained from Microsoft website) and reinstalled. Still makes no difference.
Any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix? Am running it on OSX 10.8.5 and have Excel version 14.3.9 running.
Thanks
Ian

  1. Confirm OS X is fully updated
  2. Confirm Office is fully updated
  3. Repair Disk Permissions
  4. Restart your Mac

Thanks - have previously checked that all software up to date. Repair disk permissions gives me the following log, which might as well be written in Greek for me!

I removed the log. We aren't a Mac repair site and so it won't make any sense. Also, it was causing the site to load slowly.

I don't have any other ideas. You should ask for help on a Mac site.
