Evening all,

I hope you can help. I am trying to enter details for a region of South England, United Kingdom and pull this information in to a map using Excel Maps. However I can only get the map to show England, Scotland, etc and not the counties.

I am trying to add

A1 - Reading
A2 - Swindon
A3 - Hemel Hempstead
A4 - Slough
A5 - Luton
A6 - Uxbridge

The values between 0 and 20000000 in cells B1 to B6. and when I highlight these cells it will not populate the information, stating that the information must include Country/State, Region/Area or Postcode. Unfortunately postcode give too much detailed information which is no help.

I have tried (in the same cell) England/Reading or England,Reading or United Kingdom,Reading etc but these do not work.

Does anyone know how to solve this? I am using Excel 2016 V16.27. I am using Microsoft Excel on a MacBook, but I have also tried the same on the PC version.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Mark

Re: Am I going mad? Excel Maps

Add Country as a column, county as another.

Hi thank you for that, however this doesn’t appear to work. I have tried separate columns containing;

united Kingdom-England-Wiltshire-Swindon
England-Wiltshire-Swindon
United Kingdom-Wiltshire-Swindon
Wiltshire-Swindon

No combination appear to work.

Re: Am I going mad? Excel Maps

I am getting some mixed results now, the small test yesterday looked good.

This is producing a result, you may need to play around a bit...

Country
County
Qty

UK
Reading
1

UK
Swindon
1

If it can't be certain of where the location is it won't plot it.

Morning mrshl9898,

Thank you for your help. I too am getting mixed results, and it struggles to find anything other than the ones you mention. I have noticed that when I input Reading & Swindon it actually shows the county that these areas full under and not the actual town/city. I am sure there is a way to get it to the actual town, especially as the post codes work, but there is little information on-line and from Microsoft about how to input the town/cities to get the result required.

Thank thanks
