Hi All,

I see a lot of vacancies on CW Jobs in Investment Banking/Front Office environment, namely

Excel VBA Derivatives Developer

I wanted to know what these guys actually do and how do get into it?

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
From my own experience (not in this specific role) the position will demand VBA expertise for custom functions with a lot of math. So designing functions to work out profitability of a trading strategy/cost of a derivative. Possibly subs too where entire positions are analsysed for impact of changing variables ie model development. Would have thought they would also appreciate C/C++ experience of developing custom xll functions.

I'd be interested to hear from people actually in such a role though.
