Excel Input Data Form limit on fields

Have you seen any information on the limit on the number of fields that can be included in a data input form in Excel? I have a desire to create a form to enter up to 43 fields but Excel is displeased with my wish, saying only that I have too many fields in the data form.
Yes, I have thought of using Access instead, but the users of the application are not comfortable with Access.
