Transcript of the video:
In our book about VBA and macros for Excel. In chapter one I talked about how important it is...
when you're using the macro recorder to know if you are using relative or not relative recording.
And Chris, who's reading that book said, well...
Hey, is there a way to tell if the Excel macro recorder is using relative or not? I said “Wow, that's a great idea”.
This is set either on the View tab on the far right hand side, use relative references.
Or on the Developer tab if you have it displayed, Use Relative References.
We're going to go to either one. I'll choose the View tab, Macros.
And I'm going to Right Click on Use Relative References and say add the Quick Access toolbar.
That new icon - right there is it. So this is Relative is turned on.
We have a nice little square around there. If you click here, then relative is turned off.
Great indicator. It'll always be visible.
It'll tell you whether you're in relative recording or not.
