Hi

I am working on an excel file were i need to formulaize some of the rows for values and for some rows i have actual values.

i need to determine every row for value formulaized as "forecasted value" and actual value as "actual".

is ther any formula or way for that.

thanks

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
So......wherever there's a formula, you want "Forecasted value"...and where there is a hard value, you want "Actual"?

Where do you want these values to be?

I mean, you can go to "Find & Select" on the home tab..."GoTo Special"..."Formulas"..."OK" and it will select all the formula cells so you can see them, if that's all you need.

If you want "labels" next to each cell, you could do something like:

=IF(ISERROR(FORMULATEXT(A1)),"Actual","Forcasted")

and if there is a formula in A1, it will show Forcasted, otherwise Actual.

Are either of these ideas even remotely on the right track?

No but really, I'm glad it worked for you. Thanks for the feedback.
