This could be really simple...

What is the best way (formula or other..) That would do a count of say "S" depending on the name of the person in "Cell x" on different sheets in the same work book.

I was thinking a Vlookup/count if formula but just wondering the best way to contruct it.

I have this in place already
=COUNTIF('2017-18'!KG9:LK9,"S") - (This is counting all the S's in during that particular month
but i want it to do the formula based on the name in say cell C6

Thanks

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
I don't think my explanation was very clear.

I need the to be able to count the any cell on a sheet in the given range if C6 (on that particular sheet) contains a the name on the summary page.

The above formula does the trick if the name was going to be in the same place on every sheet but it will vary year on year. The spreadsheet has evolved since i originally created that formula so i now need to adapt it to match.

I just wasn't sure who to compbine a count if/vlookup formula or if im making this now to complicated
