ok I want to create a graph of resistance against temperature.

Resistance on the y axis and temperature on the x axis.

My resistance and temperature results are:

resistance..............temperature

32.41............ 0
3.618............. 50
1.763.............. 70
0.9226............. 90
0.5158........... 110
0.3048........... 130
0.1881........... 150
0.1204........... 170
0.09818........... 180

I can create my graph ok but the problem is I can't create suitable values for the x axis (my temperature scale).

When i create my graph the scale is always from 0-9 when in fact i want it to go from 0 to 180 and to have my resistance results to match the temperature results.

Please please could someone help me.

(i do not want two lines one for each like excel does automatically). I want temp values on the x axis and resistance on the y axis).

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Try just graphing the y values, the single column. Then format the series and assign the x-values at that time. The easiest way to do this is to select the graph, right click and choose Source Data. You should see the Category (X) axis labels box near the bottom. Simply put the reference to your x-axis values here.

With the type of data you have, consider an XY scatter plot so that the x-axis is scaled correctly as suggested by Andrew.

With your values in A1:B9 use the following SERIES chart function....

=SERIES(,Sheet9!$B$1:$B$9,Sheet9!$A$1:$A$9,1)
