i have two columns -marital status & sex.
i want to access a person to be married and is a female.
which excel function do i use to determine whether a person is married/single and is a male or female in each of the categories?
thanks for any support.

Do you want a count of them or what?

If you are using an abbreviation for M/F

=COUNTIFS(A:A,"Married",B:B,"F")

or if you have Female spelled out:
=COUNTIFS(A:A,"Married",B:B,"Female")
