I have an excel issue that I can’t resolve on my own, looking for some help. I will add that I work with laptop and desktop both and sometimes start on one and finish on another. I do a lot of excel work between church finances, scheduling for our little league, and my personal finances.

My issue is: when I have a saved spreadsheet open for a while and take a break, when coming back to it, the name has changed to a five digit number and the sheet is frozen. All I can do is to save it again to a new name or a v2. Have tried troubleshooting to no avail.

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Have you looked into other possibilities involving other processes? The link below suggests that antivirus scanning and periodic backups (Google Drive or OneDrive) could cause this behavior.

Thank you very much, I think this is my issue. Now I have to figure out how to turn off the Google backup. All the directions I’ve found so don’t get me where I need to go.
