Excel Formula Help

I am some what new to sheets but know it is a very powerful tool. I am trying to total from one sheet to another. I also am trying to separate the total by phase and month.
I also need to be able to add info to other cells based on the info in one cell from data validation.
I have attached a link of the sample sheet on how I need it. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean Google Sheets? If so, you should state that clearly at the beginning. This is an Excel forum, not a general spreadsheets forum, and helpers tend not to be too happy if they put time into developing a working solution only to find it wasn't an Excel question after all.

The link you provided is labelled "Access Denied" says "You need permission"

I started this in Excel and put it in sheets as it is the way our company uses sharing.
I have added a new link with the original excel doc. This way you should not need permission.
