Errata:
On page 44 of Excel for Marketing Managers a table explains absolute and relative references stating that
Pressing F4 = D1 is Absolute Reference
=$D$1 is Relative Reference
=D$1 is Mixed (fixed column)
=$D1 is Mixed (fixed row)
=D1 is Relative

Only the last statement is correct. D1 is Relative.

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
