We have a file we use pretty regularly. for some reason it has been throwing an error message lately. I have googled and googled with no idea what to do. Does anyone know how to determine which parts of the workbook were repaired or discarded? the corrupted file is showing 41kb and the repaired is showing 12kb. Just trying to find out what, if any, data was removed. There are roughly 300+ tabs so it would be helpful to jump straight to the problem.

if i click on the link to view log listing repairs it just opens in a word.doc with this same dialog box.

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Depending on where it was stored, you may be able to right-click the original file and 'Restore previous versions'.

thank you. that recovered a version that opened without error. Any way to determine what the error was/is in the corrupted version?

You could try doing a compare between the good one and bad one. There are a bunch of tools available that will do that.
