Excel drop down menu

i made a drop down menu in excel, hence is there a way to make a drop down menu of sub folders with the check box next to it, and once the option is being selected to show only the ones being selected?

For example: I have a Solution option to choose from where I have options of Eastern, Western, Southern...
Hence, each of them have a sub folder to choose from, so instead of making a separate row for each of them (and it would look ugly if user doesn't want to select option for one of them, that it still should stay there), is there a way to show all those sub folders in a big drop down menu with check boxes, and to select whichever option you want and once it's done, to show only ones selected?

Hope it makes sense, I know this might be more of programming way of doing, but wondering can excel do this or is there easier way to do so.

thanks

ira
