Microsoft Excel Tutorial - How to draw a line through text.
Some people call it Strikethrough. Others call it crossing out text.
How can you do it in Microsoft Excel.

This short video starts with a memory aid about taking inventory with a mechanical pencil and making hashmarks. You might start with |||| to mean 4. After the 4th vertical hashmark, you cross out the lines to indicate 5. It is the 5th line that crosses the others out. This is how I remember that Ctrl+5 is Strikethrough!

How to draw a line through text in Excel.
That's called strikethrough.
Now, the shortcut for this goes back to the old days when we used to count using little hash marks.
That would be four, and then the fifth line is the one that strikes the others out.
To remember this, it's control+5, because remember the fifth line is the one that strike things out.
So control+5 there and control+5 there. What if you want to strike out just one word?
F2 to edit.
Use the arrow keys to get near the word, shift key with the other arrow key to select the word. And then control+5 while you're editing the cell.
