I'm. Novice user. I am trying to use Excel as a sales pipeline. I want to be able to put data into a cell, then have a drip down menu ( pending; sales ; on hold; sold etc..
Each of these will reflect a different cell fill color.

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Let us assume you put your data in cell C3 and your list of sale types in D3.

Tomorrow I will look for a free drop site and then respond here with a link to the Word document.

Thanks Fluff. Unfortunately my document included some screen shots of some Excel dialog boxes. Difinately not the way to do it! I am sorry for the mess that got posted. I tried inserting the images with the image icon but the forum's dialog box asked me for a URL. What is the URL for an image in my computer?

You cannot post images from your computer. You will need to upload them to a share site & then post the URL from that.
