once in a while when my excel runs this code it crashes and starts in recovery mode, does anyone know what might be happening?

Code:
Private Sub bt_directorychange_Click()

Dim fd As Office.FileDialog

'A variável "fd" irá corresponder á caixa de diálogo
Set fd = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker)

'Adicição de fitros á caixa de diálogo
With fd

    .Filters.Clear

    'Procura apenas ficheiros com a extensão "xlsm"
    .Filters.Add "Excel Files", "*.xlsm", 1
    .Title = "Choose an Excel file"
    .AllowMultiSelect = False

    If .Show = True Then

        'A variável "directory" irá corresponder ao diretório do ficheiro juntamente com o nome do mesmo
        directory = .SelectedItems(1)

        'Separa os valores entre "\" da variável directory
        ret = Split(directory, "\")
        bt_next.Enabled = True

    End If
End With

End Sub
