Excel Connection Table Issues!

Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can resolve this annoying issue I am having.

I have created a Excel Connection Table and all my columns seem to work correctly however there is one column (Employee Number) that I am having issues with. When I look the column in the source it contains both numbers and some text, for instance: 123456 but another record in the field could be AGENCY1.

The column populates all the numbers records such as the 123456 but will put a blank where the AGENCY1 is. If I format the data in the source document as text before hand it does correctly populate in the connection. I really do not want to have the source document formatted to text each week as this leaves room for error such as someone forgetting to format the column.

Anyone have any suggestions?
