Excel chart- replace line marker with number

Hi

Can someone advise whether this is a way to replace the line marker with number label, like the picture below?

If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Yes, you can add data labels, format them with white fill and choose Center for the position.
