Excel changing paper size

I'm running Excel Standard 2016. I have a particular file which I need to print in color sometimes, which means I change from my default HP printer to a color Xerox down the hall. When I change back to my default printer, it changes the paper size to Oficio 8.5 x 13. The HP printer has letter size printer as it's default settings in Properties. I end up having to change the paper size several times a week which isn't the end of the world but it is annoying, more so because I can't figure out WHY it is doing it. I do have other files that I do the same thing (change printers) but they don't change size. The only difference that I can see is that this file is setup for landscape printing.

Is there some obscure setting somewhere in the file or in VBA that might be doing this that I could change?

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
Hit Windows key and type Settings. Open System Settings. Click on Bluetooth and Devices. Scroll down to Printer and Scanners. Click on it. Scroll down to Printer Preferences. Is "Let Windows manage my Default printer active?

No, that box is not checked -- do you think that would help? I have the printer at my desk set as default.

Well I tried setting and unsetting the "Let Windows manage my Default printer" and it doesn't make a difference to this problem. One new thing I found that I think is the reason but I don't know if there is a solution or workaround, is that when I change to the Xerox printer down the hall, it changes the paper type to 8.5x11 LEF and when I change back to the HP, there is just regular letter, not LEF. Anyone have any recommendations?
