I am trying to do kind of a mail merge, using cell contents from Excel to use at different locations in a Word document (Office 2010). I don't know how to code this either in Word or Excel to make it happen. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Sam,

The first step is to set up an Excel worksheet with a table format having a heading row representing all the fields required for each record, then one row per record to be merged.

The second step is to prepare you Word document, with whatever boilerplate text is required for each recipient (record).

The third step would be to use the mailmerge helper/wizard to add the mergefields to wherever they're needed in the Word document.

Finally, execute the merge.

For an ordinary letter-type or directory/catalog mailmerge, this is all very straight-forward. Label merges & email merges aren't much more difficult. Where things can get complicated is when you've got multiple records for a given recipient and you only want to produce one letter/email per recipient - for that you'll need a resource like my Microsoft Word Catalogue/Directory Mailmerge Tutorial, available at:

or
http://www.gmayor.com/Zips/Catalogue Mailmerge.zip
Do read the tutorial before trying to use the mailmerge document included with it.
