I have tried searching high and low to resolve this issue. Here is some background information:
I have been in charge of deploying Windows 7 and Office 2010 for the company that I work for.
Some users received brand new laptops, imaged with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 and Microsoft Office 2010 x86.
Other users received the same model laptop they already had, except it was imaged with Windows 7 Enterprise x64.
Other users received a laptop newer than their existing one (although not brand new), imaged with Windows 7 Enterprise x64.
I have had several reports from users that receive this error when copying, pasting, sorting, etc a spreadsheet (normally less than 50,000 rows). This has only been experienced by users who kept the same laptop but were upgraded to Windows 7, or received an upgraded (not brand new) laptop with Windows 7.
Here's the catch:
The spreadsheets that are generating this error are stored on the network. They are opened from the network, modified and saved back to the network.
As a trial, I have had a couple of users copy the problem spreadsheets to their desktop, modify them, and see if they can replicate the error. So far, that appears to work.
Everything I've read online seems to suggest that it is a memory issue on the laptop, but how can this be if it is only affecting spreadsheets that are opened and modified from the network?
Please let me know if there are any fixes out there for this.
Thank you!
