Hi,
I am working on excel 2010 pivots, in my reports I have to show Yearly, Quarterly ,Monthly, Weekly and daily views with data starting from 2014 so Its huge :eeek:, for daily report I have 5 pivots with almost same data in all the pivots but with minor variations in filters and measures, similarly for all the categories , so I have categorized these into daily and monthly pivots , daily consisting of daily and WTD(Week to date) measures and Monthly consisting of MTD, QTD and YTD measures, but when i am working on these pivots for each and very change I do it takes 20 mins to refresh , so its really frustrating on work on these reports, can some one suggest me the better approach and how to prevent pivots from refreshing for every change I do, I know in excel 2013 we have that option, but unfortunately my work computer has only 2010 version now.
so please advice me on the best approach to create this report.

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Personally I would save this workbook as an xlsb instead of an xlsx. This reduces the file size and is also faster in opening/saving so it might improve pivot refresh times. Additionally, you could also try not saving the source with the file by going to ANALYZE->Options->Data->Uncheck "Save source with the file". However, I believe you might be better off trying to change these tables as I consider a 20 min waiting time whenever I change something in a pivot unacceptable. There might just be an easier way to get what you need. I have a lot of huge pivot tables and none take more than 30 seconds-1 min to refresh.
