Greetings I test temperature gauges in a lab setting primarily based on the the age of the gauge. Thermometers are only 1 - 3 years old.

What I am attempting to do without using pen and paper is at least make excel do it for me.

The only thing I primarily need to report is this:

In Column "Performance" or additional column, it needs to calculated this formula if I am writing it correctly.

1. Where thermometers ages are equal, it needs to average only those temperatures that correlates with the age, ignoring the ages
2. Likewise do the same for Ages 2 & 3.
3. My ultimate goal is to find the best performing thermometer in use

Sometimes I test identical thermometers, other times, 5 the same, 5 different, but it's always thermometers in multiples of 10.

If hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance....

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().

Scenario:

Try to use:

G2 -->
=AVERAGEIFS($D$2:$D$11,$B$2:$B$11,F2)

Copy it down.

Is it what you want?
I hope it helps.

Mr. Marcilio,

I am pretty sure that's it. I just wasn't sure how to write it. It actually works great. Much better than pen and paper. Awesome
