Ive looked over the internet for a simple source for creating macros for google maps.

1. A simple Macro that use Cell A1's contents (an Address) to show an address
which will show in Google Maps either in your browser or inserted browser.

2. A Simple Macro that uses Cell A1's contents (Address from) A
and Cell A2's contents (address To) B
which will show the directions in Google Maps either in the browser or inserted browser.

3. A Macro that uses several cells in a Range, from a named range (which can change
to show many Pins in Google Maps either in your browser or inserted browser.

I have looked around and not found easy solutions.

I think everything else on excel has been cover from Outlook sending emails to outlook booking making calender entrys and Also sending commands to Word. Just not well cover is Google maps.

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
Not sure what version of Excel you are using, but recommend using Microsoft's Power Map for Excel 2013, which uses Microsoft Bing maps to do some of the features above (not sure about #2).

Hi,
I have looked at mapping recently and started with the desire to control the map contents through Excel, but I gave up when I found fusion tables and the following site.
Mobile Fusion Tables - Demonstration Page

It allows you to control the map contents (coloured paddles and info windows containing names and address data plus a search facility) it is used via a web browser or iphone, ipad.
The fusion tables are part of the Google docs set-up, so if you have a google account then you have access to them already.
If preferred, you can generate the data in Excel and then upload the data to fusion tables.
I found this to be the easiest option.

good luck
Paul
