I am trying to populate fields in excel using data from access. What is the easiest way to accomplish that?

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
In EXCEL:
use ADO to get data from the query,
then COPYFROMRECORDSET rst (to paste the data)

In Access
export data using the command:
TRANSFERSPREADSHEET acExport ,acSpreadsheetTypeExcel12,vQry,vFile,true,vSheetName

So I am not familiar with ADO can I get a more Barney explanation?
