When I click on File, Open, and then Recent in Excel 2016 (version 1807) I have links for both Workbooks and Folders. Conversely I've run across Excel 2016 users that are missing the Folders link, and can only choose recent workbooks. I seem to recall that this initially missing from Excel 2016, and later added around version 1704 or thereabouts.

My questions:

• Does anyone know the version number where the Folders link was restored?

• Is there a RegEdit fix that can restore the Folders link? I seem to recall one but can't find any reference on Google or here in the forum.

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
As often happens, as soon as I made a forum post, I then discover the registry key I was looking for:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel\Place MRU

I'll check with the affected users and see if this registry key is present for them. I do welcome any thoughts or shared experiences.
