I am finding that as I convert workbooks from excel 2002 to 2013 or newer, there are times when saving the workbooks gives me an error message. This is sporadic and does not happen every time the workbook is saved.

The message basically warns me about corruption of the file and excel has to strip out elements of the file. What it ends up stripping out is on one worksheet only.

1) A company logo with hyperlink to the website - note that only the logo on one worksheet is stripped out - the others in the other worksheets are still there. When I copy and paste it from the other working worksheets back into the offending worksheet, it works and saves a few times then strips out again eventually on a save.

b) Macro buttons on the offending page. All other macro buttons in the workbook are not affected.

Any thoughts as to why this happens only on the one page?

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Further update:
The file size is about 2 meg. I have 16 gig ram

Upon saving, the following message appears:

The document was saved successfully, but Excel cannot re-open it because of a sharing violation. Please close the document and try to open it again.

Upon opening the saved document, another message appears:

There isn't enough memory to complete this action. Try using less data or closing other applications. To increase memory availability, consider: - using 64 bit version of Microsoft excel, - adding memory to your device.

After clearing his message, the same elements are stripped out of the same worksheet in the file again:
Company logo
macro buttons

the rest of the workbook is fine - including company logos and macro buttons

Any thoughts?
