Using Excel 2010
I have a created a project plan in Excel where I am trying to make the start date of one task begin when another task ends. For example, my start date column is F and my end date column is H. My predecessor column is B. So if I need the task on line 30 to begin after the task on line 10, how's the best way to do this? I used neasted or multiple IFs so if I enter 10 in B30 my start cell (F30) becomes the value of H10. But as you can imagine this statement is very long.
Please help...thank you.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Use the INDIRECT formula to point to the cell you want the value from. Since Bx holds the row number of the predecessor and the column with the end date is H, =INDIRECT("H"&Bx) will give you the required end date
