We have a macro spreadsheet that has worked just fine for quite awhile before I started working here. However the computer I was given has Windows 7 and Office 2010 installed on it where as everyone else is using Office 2007 and Windows Vista. So when I try to open the spreadsheet it comes up fine but as soon as I try to change tabs or hit a macro button I get the following message "Can not exit design mode because Control 'combobox1' can not be created." No one else has ever gotten this error and I can not find a clear reason why it is happening to me. From the research I have done I learned it is a problem with the ActiveX controls but is there a simple fix for that?

The other interesting thing is I have looked at the code and ther is only one userform and it does not have any Combo Boxes in it at all so I am really wondering why it is telling me combobox1 can not be created.

Has anyone else run into something like this before? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you check Tools-References in the VB Editor, does the Calendar control show as missing? It's not part of Office 2010, which may well be your problem.

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).

it says "MISSING: Microsoft Calendar Control 2007" and has a check mark next to it. Other than that I see no reference to calendar.

If this is my problem is there a way to fix it?

There is a Calendar control in your workbook but if you don't have the control on your machine, that will cause problems. If you remove the Calendar control, do you still have the errors?

It is the wierdest thing. If I removed the calendar control on the Site1 Tab the error stopped popping up. So I copied the calendar control on the Site2 tab and pasted it back to the Site1 tab and still no errors. So now I wonder if maybe excel was trying to name them both with the same name.
