 Hi there,
I successfully downloaded the Pivot Table Data Crunching's samples. However, I opened the first sample DB and tried to insert a Pivot Table without success. It opened a blank pivot table but the Pivot Table Field List is empty!! no data in it. I was sure to first click a single cell in the sample database. Also, the sample opens as "read only"; how are we supposed to practice? Is there is a way to work on it?
Please Help! I really need to practice. Thanks so much!

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Hello and welcome to The Board.
You say that you opened a database and not an Excel workbook - I am not sure that is what you should be doing.
If you could (a) confirm that the book is the version for Excel 2007 (b) give the name of the file that you are opening and (c) tell me the page number in the book containing the example you are trying to follow, I will see if I can help you.

Thank you so much Derek. I found the solution to my problem. When I created my Pivot Table it did not show the fields in the Pivot Table Field List, only the area of the 4 boxes below it. But I realized that I had to arrange the Pivot Table Field List view from the drop down arrow at the top right of it. Than you so much anyway. ;)
