I have recently upgraded my Excel from 2000 to 2003 along with a much nicer PC and XP. I have some rather large workbooks with many calculations in them and I am having a problem where whenever I type something in a cell and hit enter, I have to wait until the auto calculation completes before I can enter something in the next cell. I used to be able to continue to type in data, hit enter, type in the next cell, hit enter.. etc. Now I have to wait approx 3- seconds before I can type again watching the auto calculation in the status bar complete. Is there another setting I am misssing. Any ideas? It's almost like it used to buffer what I was typing in 2000 but 2003 doesn't seem to do that for me. Thanks for any help!!!

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
Hi

You could try changing calculation to manual until you've input all data, then calculate the workbook. Have a look at Decision Models for ideas on speeding up calculations, memory etc.

That is what I have reverted to doing but it's just annoying that this didn't happen on my Win2K box. I was just wondering if there was another setting or something that I was missing. Thx for the link. Looks like a good site.
