We just converted 5 of 6 PCs From Excel 10 to Excel 16 and also Windows 7 to Windows 10. Both the old and new PCs are 64 bit operating systems.

Most of the Excel files use code for a variety of routine tasks. There are lots of loops and fairly large files. We are running on a network, but there are no links or lookup tables to other closed files. Every file is now slow to open and all of the macro buttons take approximately double the time to run.

Wondering if anyone else has experience with this and what may be done about it. Our 3rd party 'Tech' suggested that the code was the problem.... my initial reaction was to boot him out of the building. Would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks

Jim

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
not sure about Windows 10, but yes i windows 2007 I have experienced MS 2013 and MS 2016 is slow compare to MS 2013.

I had re-installed several time thinking that might be something do with the setup file but later realized number of people facing same issue.

also noticed it takes bit time to open and close excel window.

what I'm thinking since MS excel 2013/2016 offers more powerful functionality such
Power Query
Enhanced PivotTable
Power BI
Newer, better charts. etc.

may this is the reason ---- just my thoughts
