Excel 07 Password Protection

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Once you have the document open go to the Office button>>Prepare>>delete the existing password>>Save.

We don't have a solution for bypassing the protection on a workbook that you have misplaced/forgotten the password for.

I'm using Excel 2007 on Windows XP. When I follow your instructions, I don't see where I can delete the existing password.

Opps that should be Office button>>Prepare>>Encrypt Document, delete the existing password then save the document.

OK. Apparently I'm doing something wrong because when I go into Office>>Prepare>>Encrypt Document, a box comes up wanting me to enter a password

I've done this before on the very same worksheet (different month) and I can't remember how the heck I did it!

Open the workbook then go to the "Review" tab on the ribbon and click "unprotect sheet".

Enter the password.
