Can't for the life of me figure this out... if I go to format the actual cell it shows its not enabled. New numbers/text don't show up that way -- but any file I open it's applied. Can anyone help me out?

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
You might try this:
On the "Home" tab -> "Styles" -> Right Click "Normal" -> "Modify" -> "Format" -> and for Number choose "General"

Does the same happen if someone else opens the workbook?

You might need to look at the PCs settings and the number formatting like setting Regional settings, date format and number formatting and currency.

It happens on every workbook, however I just figured it out -- apparently there is a "stale formatting" setting and I had to disable that. Now the strikethrough's are gone. Thanks both for the responses!
