Good Day Folks of The Excel,
I have been trying to make a excel spreadsheet to output a points tally for a competition of predicting football results in the upcoming euros.
Points are to be awarded like image 1.
Scores are to be inserted(copied) in 2*26 tables for 26 fixtures with 2 different teams score for 1 game.
I have tried and adjusted many functions but have not perfected a zero score when no "results" are entered, (adjusted on a day by day basis as scores come in) for a points total and table to be created.
All your help will be most welcome
Cheers

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
My current formulae is this =IF(OR(ISBLANK(B7),ISBLANK(V7)),"0",SIGN(B7-C7)=SIGN($V7-$W7))*1+AND(B7=$V7,C7=$W7)*2 which gives a value of 2 points when prediction is "0"-"0"

The reason for returning 2 is this part: AND(B7=$V7,C7=$W7). Adjust it via EXACT function:

AND(EXACT(B7;$V7),EXACT(C7;$W7))

P. S. If 3 points are for predicting the score correctly, and 1 point for predicting a win, what is the outcome when the prediction is 2:2 and the actual result is 1:1?

Thankyou for the help Hagia, however it has not helped :(.
Function no longer works and I cant seem to fiddle around with it with any success, any idea why this is?
And as to answer your question, 1 point would be given as the right result was predicted.
Kind Regards
