Error when Enabling Developer Ribbon in Outlook 2010

I need to enable the Developer ribbon in Outlook 2010 to adjust the macro security settings. When I go to Options>Customize Ribbon and check on Developer then click OK, I get the error: "The end date you entered occurs before the start date." I am not doing anything other than to enable the Developer ribbon. What is causing this error?
