Hi, new on the forum, would appreciate some help, I've spent 7 hours trying to figure this out :banghead:

I'm trying to insert a formula in excel for Mac 2011& 2016

The formula is:

=IF(I2="",IF(F3>0,F3,""),IF(F3>0,(F3+1)*(I2+1)-1,""))

Keeps giving me an error.

I'm tryint to reconstruct the same spreadsheet as this video: https://youtu.be/tm--bG_P9pY

Thanks, regards

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Hello,

You have to built your logic correctly ...

IF(I2="",IF(F3>0,F3,""),IF(F3>0,(F3+1)*(I2+1)-1,""))

You cannot have twice the same condition ...

There is no error with the syntax of this formula.
So what do you mean by "Keeps giving me an error."

You're getting unexpected output?
Or something else?

I think you're incorrect.

IF(I2="",
IF(F3>0,F3,""), <== this gets executed if I2 is blank, return the value in F3 if its > 0 otherwise return blank
IF(F3>0,(F3+1)*(I2+1)-1,"")) <== this gets eexcuted if I2 is not blank, again return a calculation if F3 is > 0 otherwise return blank

So its perfectly fine to have IF(F3>0 twice in the same formula.

What about using AND ... to avoid confusion ...???
