I am trying to use a filter function through VBA, in a change event in a specific column. I am using the activecell address in the filter formula, but everytime I hit enter, I get error 50290. what I am actually trying to do is a dynamic searchable dropdown list, but this error is preventing me from achieving my goal. I am using the activecell in the filter formula, but everytime I click the validation list, I get this error and I can't get passed it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
The formula I am trying to use in the data validation is the following:
VBA Code:
Range("c2").formula2="=filter(indirect("Table1'),is number(search(" & active cell address & ",indirect("Table1"))))
