Hi ,

I have inherited a large Excel spreadsheet (65 Mb) that crashes on opening with the single error code 400. It is believed that the file worked until the latest set of updates caused it to fall over. There are macros in the file, but there are none that run when the file is first opened.Any thoughts ? Thank you.

kind regards
Kaps

Using a mouse in Excel is the work equivalent of wearing a lanyard when you first get to college
maybe there is a volitile calc function. what you can do is open excel (not the file), open vba editor, then open the file and hit debug when the error pops up

actually now it is doing something different ... Excel can't open the file ..... it says that Microsoft Excel has stopped working and crashes. So I can't even open it. Any thoughts ?
