Hello All,

I have to make an equipment tracker in excel. What I had in mind is the following:
In the first sheet would be the input field with the following data: ID, Machine, Status -> then pressing a button to change the status of the equipment
Statuses can be "given out" and "stored in".

In the second sheet there will be the equipments with the current status (with ID and machine)

In the third sheet would be a log file what status changes there was with a time stamp. (also with ID and machine)

If the equipment is already in "given out" status and you want to give out again, there should be an error message that the equipment is already given out.

I have some things in my mind but I haven't done difficult macros and can't think of a solution.
If can give me ideas I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Silvia

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
It would be easier to help if you could use the XL2BB add-in (icon in the menu) to attach screenshots (not pictures) of your 3 sheets. Alternately, you could upload a copy of your file to a free site such as www.box.com or www.dropbox.com. Once you do that, mark it for 'Sharing' and you will be given a link to the file that you can post here. Explain in detail what you want to do referring to specific cells, rows, columns and sheets using a few examples from your data (de-sensitized if necessary).
