I recently changed the name of a column in a table.
When I try to open the table in datasheet form I get
"Enter parameter value for "the old column name".
How do I get rid of that?

Hi you need to change the sql that the form uses to load the data. Or better, change the column name back to what it was!

There is no form involved. Under All Access Objects->tables I double-click the table to open it,
then I get the message. A user never sees the message.
I prefer to keep the new name because it is more descriptive of the data in the column.

Not sure, you'll have to investigate the table. Generally there aren't parameters in tables but Access provides a lot of features. You can rebuild the table as a last resort.

You might have
- changed the name of a field that is used in a lookup field in a different table
- set up relationships that use the old name and have (wisely) turned off Name Autocorrect (not sure that works on relationships - I suspect not)

Suggest setting the name back to what it was if neither of the above are true, and using field captions to show the name you wish to display.

I know when you have a table open you can set the width of the columns, change the sort order and filter results

then when you close the table it asks you "do you want to save the design of the table"

so is it possible you previously set the sort or filter using the old column name
so now when you open the table its trying to use that name ?

I have no idea if this is the way Access works, but it might be worth investigating
