Enter Key Won't Enter Data in Cells

Hey experts,

This is a confusing problem. For some users with Excel 2013, when data is entered into a cell, the enter key is not applying the data they typed into that cell.

For example:

A cell contains the label "[enter name]" by default. A user selects the cell and types "John Smith," pushes enter, but the cell still displays "[enter name]" after the enter key is pressed. If they use the tab key, it works like normal though.

Any advice?

Macro in the background preventing entry?

There are change event things happening in the background, but this happens even to cells that are not involved in the change event procedure.

Interestingly, the problem goes away after a selection is made in a cell with a data validation list.

FYI, Change Events fire on ALL Cell changes in the entire sheet.
You can within that change event code, say things like "If the changed cell is A1 Then do this"
But the code still fires and runs every time ANY cell on the entire sheet changes.

Easiest way to determine if that is the cause is to disable macros and test.
