Enter a day number, and show day/month/year from another cell

Hi,

I’m getting tired of entering dates into a spreadsheet. I have a master date for each month (example: 1/1/2020) and want to create a formula so as I enter 5, the cell with the formula will show 5/1/2020 - relevant to the month/year of the master cell.

I tried the DATE formula but could only get it to work for January of current year, and similarly linking to a master cell returned a num error. I don’t think that’s the right approach. Any tips please?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
Is this the sort of thing you mean? If not, more details & examples & layout please.

Master date is in E1
Enter day in column D, formula in E2 is copied down.
