Ensure that a User Defined function used in a celll is executed ONLY ONCE

Hi Friends,
I was searching for help in excel and stumbled on this great forum.

My requirement..

I have a User Defined Function which i want to use in a cell, it should be executed ONLY ONCE when a certain condition is met. Is there any way to achieve this?

To give more details, i will be getting data from apis, based on how to the values changes in other cells I need to either execute UDF or keep checking, I want to ensure that the UDF is executed at max ONE TIME.

Hope I will be able to get some guidance on this.
Please let me know if my requirement is not clear.

Use another cell containing True. Y

our function can test it​

- let the function run (and change the cell value to False) iff the cell value is True. Don't forget to return the True value in the cell when you need your function to run again.
