Enable Macro's - but no Macro's to view?

I've run across this twice in the past couple of weeks. I've received a Word and Excel document that when opened, request the 'Enable Macro's' prompt, but when I open the document and review the code (through VBE), there is no code!

Has anyone seen this before and have an explanation for this behavior?

Thanks!

Owen

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Yes. If there is a empty VBA module, you will get that prompt. From the VB Explorer, if you see any Modules, right click on them and and select "Remove Module...".
