Hello, I would like to create a formula to figure what we need to deduct from our employees payroll for medical coverage. The company does figure a little differently than anyone that I have worked with in the past. This is what I am looking for:

Monthly Expense of our health benefits are as follows:
Employee Coverage: $521.01/month, Employee + Spouse: $1,047.23, Employee + Child $745.04, and Family $1,453.61
Employees are responsible to cover: 25% for themselves and 50% for dependents.

Is someone able to show me how to create a formula to get these formulas?

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
How do you identify the differences on a spreadsheet ?
based on the numbers does this mean the ampunt due is
Employee Coverage: $521.01/month, = 25% of 521.01
Employee + Spouse: $1,047.23, = 25% of 521.01 + (1047.23-521.01)*50%
Employee + Child $745.04, = 25% of 521.01 + (745.04-521.01)*50%
and Family $1,453.61 = = 25% of 521.01 + (1453.61-521.01)*50%

A SMALL sample spreadsheet, around 10-20 rows, would help a lot here, with all sensitive data removed, and expected results mocked up and manually entered, with a few notes of explanation.

This will possibly enable a quicker and more accurate solution for you.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data and will allow us to copy/paste your sample data into our Excel spreadsheets, saving a lot of time.

You can also test to see if it works ok, in the "Test Here" forum.

OR if you cannot get XL2BB to work, or have restrictions on your PC

then put the sample spreadsheet onto a share

I only tend to goto OneDrive, Dropbox or google docs , as I'm never certain of other random share sites and possible virus.
Please make sure you have a representative data sample and also that the data has been desensitised, remember this site is open to anyone with internet access to see - so any sensitive / personal data should be removed

Make sure you set any share or google to share to everyone
