Can you advise if the following is possible?

I have two workbooks - 1st workbooks contains the request form and the 2nd workbook contains the data

I need that information selected on the request form trigger a search in the second workbook where the results are emailed to the person

The person selects in cell D14 - Operations, D13 - AS02, D15 - Calgary ..... they press "SUBMIT"

a search is conducted in the 2nd workbook and processes that meet ALL those criterias are emailed to him

can that be done?

Hello,

As usual with Excel ... the answer is Yes ...

BUT ... you will obviously have to build your macro ...

one step after another ...to overcome each obstacle ...

thanks

I know how to build the macro to email and create a "SUBMIT" function. I a familiar with IF statements, that when met an email is generated to a recipient

I have never done a macro that involves two workbooks

can you help me on how to do so?

Let me share with you the basic principle ... which is extremely simple ...

The first workbook will manage everything :

1. Open the second workbook

2. Perform the tasks required

3. Save and Close the second workbook

Feel free to ask specific questions ...

I will do my best ...to ' track ' you and assist you if needed ...
