Email notification with Excel

I am trying to send an automatic e-mail to Outlook notification when a date in a specific range of cells expires or comes close to an expiration date. Does anyone know of a function/formula/add-in/program that will accomplish this task?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
