Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the above subject.
I work in a company and we have somewhere near 250-300 templates that we wish people in the company to fill in for the Budgeting process.
We are currently trying to decide on the most efficient and best means of distribution.
We need to ensure that each person only accesses their own template, due to the fact there is sensitive salary information contained within each template.
At the moment we are thinking of either emailing each person their template, or hosting all templates on the LAN and having each person complete it on the LAN.
The email solution causes issues to do with version control and coordinating the sending and receiving of all the templates. However the benefits are that it deals with the security aspects.
The LAN solution has the benefit of reducing version control issues, and less time needed coordinating the sending and receiving of files. However on the negative side it would require extra work to individually password protect each template and then would need some form of macro when we wish to batch process all the templates.
Has anyone come across this type of issue before and have any recommendations or tips to pass on? Even if there are other suggestions of how to do things, that might help.
At the moment, I'm tending towards email for the security benefit and ability to track which templates are completed.
Any help very much appreciated, thanks.
